It’s a new year and new beginning, especially when it comes to our wellness and spirituality. Sometimes the most important ingredient for spiritual renewal results from catastrophic events.
This past year has been a crushing test on our mental and physical resilience.
It’s often been said that the end of this year, 2020 can’t come soon enough, especially as we inch closer to the holidays and 2021. It has certainly been a challenging and unparalleled year with a deadly pandemic, economic uncertainty, social unrest, hurricanes, fires and political divide. So here we are, approaching the end of the year.
As we approach Thanksgiving during such an unprecedented time in 2020, there are undoubtedly so many questions about what this holiday is going to look like. Are we planning for small family gatherings or a larger get-together with families and friends? Are we wearing masks or no-masks? Maybe Thanksgiving will be virtual on zoom or perhaps we can celebrate alfresco style, after all we do live in Florida and probabilities are the weather will be on our side.
October ushered in a sigh of relief for me knowing that we were able to execute a meaningful in-person FSA event that upheld all state, local and site mandates without compromising the value and enjoyment that we experienced at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. This could not have been accomplished without the hard work of our FSA team. Like a symphony in sync, our team rallied and all plans fell right into place.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our lives in so many ways. Whether it is a physical, emotional, or social change, we have had to make many adjustments in our lives in order to stay safe and prevent the spread of the virus.
We define wellness as an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life, especially since we only get one crack at it. Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions. And that is why we are so focused on spreading this message throughout our spa community.
As I reflect on the last couple of months, which has been so uncertain and somewhat chaotic, it feels like I’ve been living in a Stephen King Novel. Dealing with an invisible enemy detrimental to everyone’s health has been unimaginable.
It’s an evolving world that we’re living in. With the recent outbreak of COVID-19 we have had to make extreme adjustments to all that we have become familiar with, that would be considered normal in our day to day life.
The outbreak of the Coronavirus has caused major concern worldwide. It’s easy to get caught up in the misinformation of this global health crisis but critical to understand facts vs. fiction. It’s important to stay proactive about our health, maintaining a robust immune system and taking hygienic precautions during flu season and the COVID-19 outbreak.
February is a welcomed month of holidays and remembrances such as Black History Month, Presidents Day, even World Nutella Day, but February is mostly regarded as the month of love, Valentine’s Day, remembering love and emphasizing the importance of the variety of loves that exist in our lives.
