I love Thanksgiving, to me it is the absolute “Kickoff “ for the holidays. As we near Thanksgiving week, it’s the perfect time to take a step back and reflect on all we have and how blessed we are. After nearly 2 years since COVID hit our shores, we can see beams of light shining at the end of the tunnel. With lifted and lighten restrictions, we have comfortably adjusted to reasonable and safe measures that allow us to get back to a sense of normalcy.
October just handed me a gift…. “a sense of accomplishment” for a goal that I had been working on diligently which was our recent FSA event. We were grateful to have the opportunity to partner with Lynne McNees, President of ISPA and several ISPA Board Members to support our FSA Ocean Reef Club event. For days, weeks and months my key mission was to set our format, focus on planning, and get each detail locked in….dot every “i” and cross every “t”.
September has arrived! Just saying that sets off my inner most emotions and memories that summer has ended and fall is tiptoeing in. Although I no longer live in New York waiting for those magnificent colors to turn on trees, anxiously anticipating that delightful fall weather, I continue to hang onto my NY roots, watching through the eyes of my family up north.
The dominant them in Shakespeare’s “ A Midsummer’s Night Dream” is love….but what does love really mean? It has so many definitions that the list is endless. There’s “people-love” for a spouse, partner, child, parent, friend, etc., when the needs of other people are equal to or come before our own. Genuinely caring about someone else’s happiness.
If soaring temperatures and high humidity levels of South Florida summer, has you looking for way to just stay cool, take heart, we’re all in this together! We Floridians for the most part probably elected to live here because of the weather and “heat” or for a job opportunity in the spa epi-center. However, this Summer in particular, the heat is clearly “turned up” as we find our spas busier than ever.
Why is June one of my favored month? For starters we celebrate Father’s Day in June, honoring our dads and celebrating the influence our fathers represent in our society. It’s a special day to reflect on the relationship between you and your father, no matter which end of the relationship you happen to be at in the stage of your life.
We are just days away until the FSA “Seaside Elegance” Event at the Seagate Event in Delray Beach. As we finalize preparations for our 1st live, in-person, event for 2021, the anticipation and enthusiasm is building each day as we get closer to May 18th, when we hold our event.
Happiness is a feeling of joy or good fortune; an enjoyable or satisfied state of being. What makes me happy is my family, friends, being productive, embracing wellness and working in our spa industry.
We welcome March and honor this month, Woman’s History Month, and the evolution of its past which has been woven into the lives, opportunities and capability that women have inherited.
While we often express love and appreciation in relation to our personal lives, gratitude among our working family is especially critical because it fulfills the higher psychological need to feel a sense of belonging to something greater than ourselves and to feel a sense of meaning and accomplishment.
It’s a new year and new beginning, especially when it comes to our wellness and spirituality. Sometimes the most important ingredient for spiritual renewal results from catastrophic events.
This past year has been a crushing test on our mental and physical resilience.
It’s often been said that the end of this year, 2020 can’t come soon enough, especially as we inch closer to the holidays and 2021. It has certainly been a challenging and unparalleled year with a deadly pandemic, economic uncertainty, social unrest, hurricanes, fires and political divide. So here we are, approaching the end of the year.
