Kimberly DeOrsey, Spa & Wellness Operations Expert
Kimberly has recently entered into a new chapter in her life having enrolled into FSU’s (Florida State University) Executive MBA education program majoring in Program Management. Previously Kim was the Director of Spa & Wellness at nSpa Marriott in Delray Beach. Kim is also a Florida Wellness Ambassador for the Global Wellness Day Movement.
Kimberly DeOrsey’s spa career began in 1992, when she opened one of the premier resort spas in the country, The Spa at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Her award-winning accomplishments and reputation for excellence led her to past role as Spa Director for the nSPA @ The Delray Beach Marriot, a 30,000 square foot hotel amenity with 9 spa_ treatment rooms, 4 hair stations and 4 manicure and pedicure stations as well as a lap pool.
Kim’s profile in the wellness industry has also grown in the past five years since being tapped as on-air expert for a series of twenty-eight different Wellness Exchange Segments with the local NBC Today Show on WPTV in Palm Beach and one Wellness Exchange segment for ABC’s WPBF. Since 2016 she has also served as one of 83 Global Wellness Day Ambassadors around the world, orchestrating educational community wellness events on the second Saturday of June each year.
Prior to her position at the Delray Beach Marriott, Kim held the position of opening Executive Spa Director at The Henderson n Beach Resort. Two of the major accomplishments she spearheaded while at the resort were an American Spa cover story on the resort’s spa as well as obtaining a 5-Star rating by Forbes within three months of the grand opening.
Kim is a highly sought after and respected spa director due to her intuitive leadership skills, business acumen and award-winning spa and wellness experience. She is admired for her commitment to integrating cutting-edge holistic treatments into the spa environment, for always putting the guests first, ensuring guest experiences and repeat clients along with an unrelenting commitment to profitability.
She also served as Spa & Wellness Manager at The Club at Ibis’s The Core, having opened their $33M Capital Improvement Project. The Club at Ibis is an exclusive country club community of 33 distinctly different neighborhoods and 54 holes of golf on three renowned Nicklaus-family golf courses. Her peers nominated her in 2014 and 2015 for Manager of the Quarter and Manager of the Year.
Previous to joining Ibis, Kimberly opened the newly renovated Spa at The Omphoy Ocean Resort, which garnered Conde Nast Traveler Readers Poll’s highest honor: #1 Resort Spa in the United States. In addition to all the accolades from her clients and hotel guests, her team members and peers through numerous Leader of the Quarter nominations, resulting in her award as Leader of the Quarter in 2012 and 2013, have recognized Kim’s achievements.
Over her long-ranging career she has held spa leadership positions at a number of prestigious resorts and spas across the country, with a focus on Florida, including:

In addition to her hands-on leadership, Kim has served on the Starwood North American Spa Council and provided Spa Advisory Task Force guidance for several luxury hotel companies. She has been a member of ISPA (International Spa Association) for 18 years, as well as the FSA (Florida Spa Association) and CSFA (Club Spa Fitness Association) professional organizations.
Kim is a graduate of Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commercial Recreation and Facility Management with a minor in Advertising.
Kim just turned 50 in May, experiencing a year of self-care. She wants to practice what she preaches. Kim started taking spin classes and has done more than 120 classes in 2019. She is also dedicated to spending more time on her yoga mat. She is currently doing the 31-day yoga challenge. One of her favorite self-care indulgences are in acupuncture and cupping. Kim is blessed and honored to have three wonderful children …Tyler 23, Elle 14 and Remington 11.
