Caline Assilian, Spa Director, Exhale Spa – Loews Miami Beach
Caline is the Spa Director for Exhale Spa at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel and the Executive Director for Intentional Health & Wellness.
Intentional Health & Wellness is a service provider specializing in the incorporation of Acupuncture and Eastern Healing Arts into spas and wellness centers. IHW brings these services to the patient in places where they can become familiar with them in safe, tranquil, and professional setting that is conducive to supporting patient’s health and lifestyle. She is responsible for the oversight of all Acupuncture Practitioner recruitment, on-boarding, training, management of operations & revenue, menu and business development.
Caline has been in the wellness industry for the past 15 years in a wide variety of roles. After experiencing the amazing health benefits of Chinese Medicine, Caline was inspired to dive into the holistic health industry by completing a Master’s degree in traditional Chinese Medicine and becoming a licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. Prior to her journey in the field holistic healing, Caline first obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego. She now enjoys combining her business education and background with her training in Chinese Medicine in order to help create and promote successful holistic health practices in the spa setting.
In her role with exhale, Caline oversees the spa, fitness, and retail components of the Exhale location at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Exhale is a revolutionary well-being brand where body meets mind; their mission is to transform lives worldwide by delivering transformational results through spa and fitness. She has worked with both exhale and IHW for the past 7 years.
Being a strong advocate of integration with nature, Caline serves on the Board of the Green Spa Network, a nonprofit trade association that provides education, resources and gatherings on sustainability for the spa and wellness industry. GSN believes the spa and wellness industry has a unique opportunity to make a substantial positive impact by adapting practices that support the environmental and human resources necessary to provide its services, products, and experiences.
Being of Armenian heritage, Caline is the Co-President of the Miami Chapter of SOAR – the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief which provides humanitarian relief to orphaned Armenian children and adults with disabilities throughout the world. She is also a former Massage Therapist and in 2007 co-owned a luxury travelling spa company in her hometown of San Diego called Exquisite Care, providing massage and wellness services to luxury boutique hotels. Prior to that she served as the Acupuncture Program Director at the Advanced Body Care Center of La Jolla.
Caline has lived in Miami for the past 8 years having moved from her beloved home state of California. She loves to travel extensively around the world and learn about different cultures. Her wellness career has also included working for 3 years on-board cruise ships with Celebrity Cruise line where she practiced Acupuncture all around the world.
