A bit about Mitch…
Mitchell Berkman
Mitchell Berkman is a Los Angeles native who has called Miami his home since 2002. He has enjoyed presenting at Spa & Fitness Industry seminars and currently directs the Spa & Wellness programs at Porto Vita’s Villa Grande Club in Aventura, Florida. He has found being a part of the start-up process truly rewarding. He opened Spa Serenity at Turnberry Ocean Colony – a Community of the Year winner for the Florida Community of Excellence Award – as well as the Spa at The Standard, Miami. Discerning developers and spa professionals seek him out is for his proven track record with both employees and customer relations. His motto: “Be prepared, reward success, and make the process fun.”
Prior to calling Florida his home, he worked with the Cunard Cruise Line where he traveled to more than 55 countries working with the Golden Door’s Spa at Sea, Rancho la Puerta as well as the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Mitchell moved to Italy fresh out of high school where he taught aerobics, co-starred in a TV fitness show, won a Media Arts Award, and ate really good Italian food. (Read more)
He is AFAA certified as a personal trainer, aerobics instructor, and teaches yoga and mat Pilates. He is a SAG-AFTRA union member, a member of the Club Managers Association of America and a long-standing member of the Florida Spa Association. Other personal and professional highlights were being the first spa consultant for Universal Companies for Florida & the Caribbean, training Franco Zeffirelli while being the Fitness Director at a spa in Tuscany, and finally starting his own personal training company in NYC. Mitchell has his B.S. degree in Organizational Management from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA. He speaks Italian, Spanish & French, and enjoyed years of performing in the Appalachian Regional Theatre. Helping others maximize their potential is his daily passion and life focus.
