Women & Well-being
As we enter Breast Cancer Awareness month, it is important to mention the need to also become aware of the movement beyond wellness and into overall well-being. Well-being is simply defined as the state of being healthy, happy and self-assured. As the spa industry has embraced and influenced the many physical and mental benefits of self-care, we now celebrate the recognition and validity of taking time to focus on one’s well-being. Understanding that making time to balance your life and to create a true wellness regimen is equally, if not more important, to any other priorities.
Eating right, reducing stress and exercising regularly are just the beginning. Taking time out to bask in moments of self-care and self-acceptance are not only well deserved but also necessary. When you feel stressed and too busy to carve out time for your well-being, you forget that being good to yourself allows you to be good to others.
As women we often feel guilty if we spend too much time on ourselves. Therefore, this month we celebrate women, their contributions, their selfless giving nature to help others, and to supporting one another to enjoy frequent moments of wellness and create routines of self-care.
