Do we value our business relationships?
Business partnerships and relationships are just like friendships. If we want to open doors for future business clients or build stable relationships with our fellow associates and employees, we need to treat them just like friends. The act of building genuine friendships and successful businesses aren’t very different from one another. People connect with humanity. When being human is in the radar, it creates more opportunity to bond with your business clients and associates successfully. Or, when understanding that your employees are responsible for the happiness of your customers, support and consideration can help put reasoning into any situation. It’s a safe assumption that keeping your customers happy works when your staff feels the same.
Unlike family that we are born into, we get to choose our friends. Businesses also choose their customers. You may think, “to what degree will I go to or care about my customers?” If you think of that regarding how you care about your friends, you might go the extra mile. Caring not only shows you are human, it shows concern about your partnership. Developing a level of care, trust, and transparency is essential for individuals in friendship and vital to a business relationship. Not only does a level of confidence grow between business friendships over time, but more opportunities surface as well. Business partnerships, just like friendships develop common interests and goals.
In the role of a leader, employee and colleague relationships are the apparatus that sets you apart from competitors. It always comes down to the performance of your staff and the relationships you have with your co-workers. A friendship that coexists with leadership can have amazing results. When you value your workforce and align yourself with your associates, they become your true creator of value. It’s a clear-cut roadmap for success.
It’s imperative upon management to treat employees and develop a stable relationship for employees to perform at their peak. Anticipating high-quality service and good performance from employees who are unhappy or under the command of poor management, the outcome will most likely be problematic. This is why it is important to think about employees as individuals in more human terms of their performance, behavior, attitudes, and loyalty.
Many businesses tend to think only about quantity, while most people think about quality. Once you open yourself up to treating your business and work like your friendships, you will have come to realize that business relationships are like friendships. When your business is human, it will create infinite opportunities.
