A Note from Ilana – January 2020

  • On January 14, 2020

Happy New Year!

“Welcome to a New Decade…..2020”

One of the concepts defining a New Year is a “New Year’s resolution” which is intended that you start fresh and try and do something better that will produce an improvement in your life. Starting over is about moving on from the past, which could have been good or bad.  Let’s start with the presumption that you had a great year with remarkable success. However, it’s not easy to get over the idea that one year has ended and a new year has begun, subconsciously suggesting that we need to set new goals – or reset failed ones.  So, rather than set goals as part of your New Year’s resolutions, some of which can fail (not to be negative, just realistic), maybe consider a different concept.

Consider combining an intention and fulfillment as an alternative to setting a goal. You don’t need to approach your goal setting like we’ve been programmed. Everyone has a purpose, whether it’s creation, growth, independence, innovation, etc. Whatever your intention or objective is, by stating (and accepting) your intentions; you can then create the situations you need to make them happen. When you combine this with your motive to be fulfilled, you ensure that you place your best foot forward at all times.

Combined, intention and fulfillment allows you to live both in the future and in the now. It allows you to know where you’re going, not because of a few defined goals or resolutions that hold you back but because it gives you a mound of intentions of whom you wish to become. And because you appreciate what fulfills you and makes you happy, you create powerful situations that ensure you accomplish what you set out to do, but not simply for the sake of the “goal”.

We hope you enjoyed the holidays with your family and friends and took time to relax, unwind and renew.   Take that leap of faith and be wondrous in this New Year by believing in yourself and following your dreams.  Take a chance, aim high and go outside the box….. We are!

Have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
