In June, the Governor signed the Massage Therapy Bill (House Bill 245) which went into effect on July 1, 2021. This bill updated and modernized the language in Florida Statute Chapter 480. Massage therapy assessment is now officially within scope of Massage Therapists practicing in the state of Florida. The Florida Board of Massage will have a workshop in September to determine the specifics of this addition. The FSMTA will continue to keep you updated regarding any and all changes to the practice of massage therapy.
