What’s Your Wellness?

Global Wellness Day Celebration
on Saturday, June 12th, 2021 at your spa.
Let us know “What’s Your Wellness” Celebration at your Spa!

Global Wellness Day

Every year we celebrate and ask our Florida spas to support and participate in Global Wellness Day, held this year on Saturday, June 12th. Due to the pandemic last year we were all caught off guard and GWD had to make quick changes. They presented a 24 Hour Virtual Livestream. This year’s lineup is a GWD 2021: 12-Hour Livestream.

With pandemic restrictions having eased our spas continue to open up, going back to providing services and activities. We now have an opportunity to promote and welcome wellness to our spa guests by offering a celebration on the official GWD day, Saturday, June 12th.

Wellness encompasses physical and mental wellbeing which is fused into our Spa Space and will continue to thrive in our spa community and remain at the heart and soul of who we are!

We hope you will participate and organize your own local online or live celebration for your spa clientele and guests (depending on your property’s Covid-19 rules and regulations). You could offer a small activity outdoors for your guests, such as yoga, meditation, beach walk, etc. Or provide something complimentary at your spa or an online education session for your clients. Remember, we want it to be complimentary for your guests.

With your support and dedication to wellness, our Florida Spa Community can be the face of wellness at its best!

“I am a strong advocate of the understanding that, living well is the simple necessity for every human being on the planet and that wellness is not a luxury but the inherent right of every individual. I believe the pandemic has proven this to us all. Wellness is associated with an active process of being aware and making choices that lead toward an outcome of optimal holistic health and well-being. It is important to know that wellness is multidimensional; physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental and that the spa & wellness industry can help support many individuals and societies to maintain a better lifestyle amidst these unpresented times.”  – Belgin AksoyFounder of Global Wellness Day

What is GWD?

All of us would like to be healthier, to look better, and to live well both physically and spiritually.

Living well is almost the entire world’s shared dream.

As everything that is precious to us has been honored with a special day, why is it that we don’t have a special global day dedicated to the only thing which is really valuable to all of us, that is, living well? We can now answer this question by saying “it now exists”. This special day is called Global Wellness Day.

With the slogan “One day can change your whole life,” we celebrate Global Wellness Day on the second Saturday of June every year as an international day.

Global Wellness Day is an entirely not-for-profit day, a social project dedicated to living well. The purpose of Global Wellness Day is to ask the question, even if for just one day, “How can I live a healthier and better life?”, to direct the thoughts of both individuals and society towards “living well” and to raise awareness.

The main aims of the day are:

  • To recognize the value of our lives
  • To pause and think, even if for just one day of the year
  • To be free from the stress of everyday city life and bad habits
  • To make peace with ourselves
  • To raise awareness about living well and increase motivation, not just for today, but for the remaining 364 days of the year

First celebrated in 2012, Global Wellness Day was established in Turkey as the “first” day dedicated to living well and has now been accepted worldwide. Reflecting its success, in 2020 Global Wellness Day was celebrated globally with a 24-hour live stream which started in New Zealand and ended in Los Angeles, once again drawing attention to the importance of “living well”.

Global Wellness Day will be celebrated on Saturday, June 12th, 2021.
