The Florida Spa Association Attends Green Spa Congress
By Linda Higgs
Our early morning began with a 6:30 am hike up the Huff & Puff trail surrounded by the majestic, towering Santa Lucia Range with a group of environmental spa enthusiasts. Green Spa Congress celebrated their 10th anniversary at the sublime pastoral river valley of Carmel Valley Ranch. Long supporters of the Green Spa Network, The Florida Spa Association, shares in their mission to promote sustainability, consciously sourced ingredients as well as, moving towards greener practices for a better tomorrow. Two days of inspiring and informative presentations were set in an interactive format that yielded action and a focused mission which each delegate took back to put into practice. We learned that together we can heal the world and accomplish anything, in as little as 18 months!
The organization brings a sense of oneness within the spa community as well as, lifelong connections built with other likeminded supporters. We meandered through the winding coastal roads of Pebble Beach, enjoyed a bowl of Hungarian Goulash with our friends from Eminence Organics, and watched our supporters from Organic Male receive a well-deserved recognition for their support of the Green Spa Initiatives. No trip to Carmel Valley would be complete without sumptuous food, fine local wines, and wildlife viewing of; deer, frolicking “barking” turkeys, a baby goat, and other playful critters surrounding the casual elegance of The Ranch’s bucolic backdrop. We are thankful to The Green Spa Network for this prodigious experience, and we cannot wait until the 2019’s Congress location is announced.
