The Holiday Spirit… One of the Outright Best Feelings in the World.
December has a way of waving its magic humanity wand over the world. It’s the joy of the holidays. I have always immensely loved this time of the year. There is this extreme feeling of joy and contentment within me and all my surroundings. Like they say, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” I’m already humming the song in my head, and it feels amazing. The atmosphere just feels so genuine during the holidays with decorated homes, glorious bright lights, the scent of pine trees, the anticipation of Christmas (and Santa!), 8 brilliant Chanukah nights of glowing candles, the enthusiasm of gift giving and gift getting, and celebrations throughout the month that fill the air with excitement. You just can’t avoid the welcoming spirit of love and friendship and so many smiling faces!
Our Florida spa community finds itself at the height of their season and in full gear as people leave the cold and journey to the promise of our illustrious beaches, magnificent weather, and merriments. It’s our busiest and most festive time of the year as our spas leaders creatively prepare enjoyable spa services for their guests, welcoming them to spend their holidays enjoying their family and friends while they experience wellness, spiritual healing and relaxation, and the many splendors offered at their properties.
The holidays are also a reminder about humanity and kindness…. while many of us are operating at full throttle as we rush through stores to find the perfect items on our kids’ holiday wish lists and plan for elaborate family dinners, for those who are struggling to make ends meet, or homeless, the holidays can be one of the most difficult times of year and this is the perfect time to extend the great spirit of giving beyond our homes and give together as families. There is no better way to impart altruism to our kids and for ourselves than to donate or volunteer together to make a real difference in our community. There are many opportunities in the spirit of giving back such as volunteering at local shelters and food banks. The compassion within us is abundant and we are an involved community!
The holiday spirit is about being cheerful and memories of all the things to be thankful for. It’s about the enthusiasm of having belief and faith and the joy and purity combined with excitement and a powerful time of celebration. There is an overwhelming urge to give more of one’s self and to overlook the trespasses of others, to get lost in a happy illusion and a seemingly unexplainable desire for a sense of genuine human bonding, interaction, community, and even self-bonding.
So, from our FSA family to yours, enjoy the holidays with your family and friends, and take time to share love, cheer, and appreciate all that surrounds you.
With love, Happy Holidays!
